We won't be going back.

I took both of my Boston Terriers to Dr Koenig because they were losing hair, itchy all of the time, had sores, some ear issues and occasionally throwing up. She spent a long time explaining dog foods. How some make the dogs run hot and some cold. She taught me about the importance of quality dog foods. I left with several remedies to help get both dogs back to the norm. Dr Koenig had also just returned from a seminar and shared with me what she learned. She also took the time and taught me the best way to take care of dogs nails. I learned a great deal in one appointment and never felt rushed! I felt compelled to share this information because of the previous post. I was not in the least offended by her home office, in fact I can appreciate someone working from home and feel I can trust that they take pride in their business because of it being in their home. I found everything to be in order and my dogs never went there with fleas nor did they come home with them. I will return.

Knowledgeable and kind vet

Dr. Koenig is kind and knowledgable, but be aware that the office is out of her home and isn't like a traditional vet's office. One of the things that was instantly off-putting was the cleanliness factor. The upholstery was old and dirty, there were cobwebs in the corners, and even used acupuncture needles on the table in the actual exam room. After vaccinating our cat, the needle tip was placed on the table too instead of disposed of immediately. Yikes! The room made me a bit uncomfortable, especially since it's clear that animals are sharing the "bed" which doubles as the exam table/acupuncture table. I told myself that certainly, it was washed between clients, but honestly, I'm not so sure, and I'm kicking myself for ignoring my gut. Not even 24 hours after the visit, my cat (who had never been outside of my home before) started scratching what I thought was incessantly. 4 days later I found fleas. Friends subsequently told me that when you take your animal to a country vet, it's probable you will bring fleas home. Trust me, if I had known, we never would have gone. I was nervous about the traditional vaccination schedule, but at the end of the day, I paid over $100 to bring fleas into my home which required nearly $300 worth of follow-up treatment. Not to mention the washing, vacuuming, and anxiety that has come along with the issue. It wasn't worth it.

Cat brought home fleas

Went to Dr. Alisa a couple of weeks ago and found her most knowledgeable with a real concern for the animal. Her office is not horribly clean - you can tell the most important thing to her are the animals and not if there is hair on the couch or not. My dog is having severe skin issues which we are working on - I have started him on her recommendations and will post again in a few weeks with the results so far

So to recap:
